It has been a busy week. Exam week is here again and my sis-cum-business partner has been accepted to do architecture in UIA.( Congrats, Kakak!) Major changes are about to take place in our lives, I'm sure.

Anyway, in the midst of everything, we can't say NO to baking cupcakes for Abang Reduan's wedding. We made cupcakes for his engagement hantaran once and this time, we made cute mini cupcakes for meja pengantin ( main table).

At first we were told that the theme was going to be gold so we used brownish paper cups. However, at the last minute, they changed the theme to pink and white. By then, it's too late to bake another batch of cupcakes. ( Tips: If you face the same situation and you have time, you could cut out wrapping papers of the colour that you want and wrap the cupcake cups to disguise the awkwardness, You could also use pieces of doily paper which look like lace. Or simply slip each cupcake into unused cupcake cups of the colour requested )

Unfortunately, time was one thing that we did not have that day...
But fortunately, the groom's family were happy with the result and the taste!

Bits of the process:

Apples peeled, cored and cut into wedges.

Mixed thoroughly with sugar, flour , spices and lemon juice.

Add some butter.

Cover the top with the other half of rolled dough.
Use fork to pinch the edges together,
Decorate with cut out dough. We love leaves design, kind of remind us of autumn.

Baked to perfection!

Maple leaves design is also a favourite.

Does it remind you of Canada, too?

After so many trials and errors, we are proud to introduce you our version of ...
Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies!
They are SOOOOO delicious and addictive!
We got some friends to sample them and we already have some orders.
For Diana's birthday pack, she ordered big "Famous Amos" size cookies to add into each goodie bag.

This order was for a speaker who came to grace the occasion of Maulidur Rasul in SMK(L)BB,PJ.
We made red velvet cupcakes, decorated with apple green cream cheese topping.
A few were decorated with fondant icing with the wordings "terima kasih" written on it.

We were very happy to hear that the ustadz found the cupcakes " really delicious and they were all gone in a flash!"

Every now and then, we get requests for apple pies. We love to make apple pies. It's not that difficult though we wont totally agree with the idiom "as easy as pie".
Nothing beats the smell of apple pies baking in the oven. You can almost taste the goodness of the flavour.

Black bottom chocolate chip cupcakes, anyone?

They are so moist and spongy, a delicious combination of rich chocolate cake and creamy cheesecake.
You can taste the rich chocolaty flavour against the creamy cheesecake mixture, and bites of chocolate chips just add to the heavenly experience! This is a favourite among my friends. Hope you would want to try some too!

The year of ferocious tiger is almost over, making way for the gracious and calm rabbit. To the Chinese, the rabbit is a lucky sign. No wonder it is a long awaited festival. Every shopping complexes we go are jammed with people making preparation for the Chinese New Year festival.
We love the atmosphere and most importantly all the decorations we see. We spot a particular window display at a watch shop in Sunway Pyramid and are inspired by the use of fans and cherry blossom flowers. So we decided to use it as the design of our CNY cupcakes.

Oranges are available in abundance now, so yeah... we use them too. The red scroll is inspired by BB calligraphy competition recently. Here are some of the cupcake orders we have this festive seasons.

The order for yet another hantaran came from Auntie Suhaibah who was helping a relative preparing for his engagement party. We were asked to prepare the cupcakes in white, pink and fuschia , which was the theme of the event. We used fondant icing over carrot cupcakes, they seem to be all time favourite. Auntie Sue also ordered a few extras just for ' makan-makan', nothing fancy, cream cheese topping decorated with little fondant flowers.We delivered them on time and besides getting the payment, Auntie Sue packed us with delicious, authentic nasi lemak, rendang and other condiments. Yummy! The smell was so tempting, we had some in the car before getting on with other delivery. Thanks, Auntie Suhaibah!

Cupcakes as ' hantaran' for engagements and weddings are getting very popular nowadays. They can be personalised to suit the theme of the engagements and weddings. For Kak Zana's engagement last December, we were requested to use circle designs to symbolise eternity and everlasting love- like the wedding ring. To match her other hantarans, we prepared them in baby pink, baby blue and purple. We sent her the cuppies in plain white box to be decorated. To Kak Zana, thanks so much for the order and we wish you all the best in your future!

For this merry holidays, we took some orders for Christmas parties. This season's favourites are Carrot cupcakes and Red Velvet cupcakes with cream cheese toppings. Yummy!!
For the decoration we kept it very simple, just a thick spread of cream cheese topping, sprinkled with coloured castor sugar. Simple, traditional yet still look appealing!
And we managed to bring a dozen or two to Mariam's BBQ party!!

For little Nik Aziz's birthday, we chose robot designs and made them in pastel colours.
Hey, do you know that the word 'robot' comes from the Republic of Czech ' robota' which means "hard work"or "labour"? Heard that on the radio today.
Anyway, the cuppies came out quite beautifully.
Here is how they look like.

And these cute ice cream cuppies are especially for Indah who just turned ONE!

This order came from our own mom who wanted to give cupcakes with some personal touch to each one of her graduating pre-university students.This is to reward them for all their years of hard work in school. So we baked carrot cupcakes, laced them with butter cream topping. We used cube mini waffles and dates cookies, dipped in chocolate sauce to make the mortal boards. (Take note that waffles are probably not the best choice as they turn daft and lose the crunchiness, we would opt for chocolate mini bar the next time). We made the tassels out of licorice, you can also use fruit slices for the same purpose.We then used M&Ms as toppers. To make the diploma, we rolled out tiny pieces of fondant icing, place them on the cuppies and decorated them with tiny fondant flowers. When everything is done, we individually packed them. We should have used the school colours for the ribbons but we ran out of green ribbons. So we used pink ribbons for the girls' and yellow ribbons for the boys'. Here are the products of our labour :)

New beginning

We have neglected updating our cupcake blogshop and had focused more on the clothing line all this while. Good thing that we still keep a good deal of pictures from our past orders. (Sadly, many pictures are already stored in our other laptop that is still being 'hospitalised'- hope they could be saved). It had been difficult to run sales on cupcakes and clothing through the same blogshop.Some customers who wanted to order cupcakes were taken aback to find pictures of clothing and accessories instead .Similarly, some customers were confused to find cupcake pictures when they were looking for clothes. What a relief it is to be able to keep our cupcake blogshop separated from our clothes blogshop. So without further due, here are some of the pictures of our cupcake orders this year.

Another order came from Sri from Shah Alam. She requested for her Red Velvet Cupcake to have 'sweet and simple' design using fondant icing. We also delivered some of the same cupcakes to Auntie Yam from Subang Jaya. Hope they like it!

We recently introduced Red Velvet cupcakes, a traditional favourite. We baked them, had some friends to sample and the orders keep coming. These are one of the first red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese topping that we made. Other pictures will be posted later as soon as we could locate them.

Hanis ordered Carrot cupcakes to celebrate her friend Nurul Asyiqin's 15th birthday . Glad that she was happy to get them!

We wanted to slow down our business as SPM was approaching but couldn't turned down some order from our regular customers. Auntie Chin ordered chocolate and vanilla cupcakes for her newborn twin niece and nephew's party. There is something special about welcoming newborn babies. We are just glad that our cupcakes were a part of the joyous occasion. So Ms and Mr Chin Juniors, may you have our cupcake pictures along with many other photos of your first day at home!

Pak Ngah's friend from Ampang ordered 200 Carrot Cupcakes for his daughter's engagement ceremony. The theme was pink and purple. How sweet!These cupcakes were meant to be doorgifts for the guests. Wow! It must have been a grand ceremony. We took two days to bake and decorate and to pack the cupcakes. As one of us was busy with SPM preparation, Mummy Dearest was forced to lend a hand. We managed to get everything done by 5pm, as promised. Pak Ngah was nice enough to come and collect the cupcakes and saved us the trip to Ampang. Thank you so much, Pak Ngah! We love you!
